Sponsored Silence...completed
So I have successfully completed my sponsored silence, definitely harder than I thought it would be. Luckily I managed and wasn't tempted to talk too much! Thank you for all your support, it's been brilliant. I will update soon with pictures and total amount of money raised :)

So it's silence day tomorrow, no talking for me! It's going to be a challenge, but hopefully I won't struggle too much to keep quiet. I will be posting photos soon to prove I managed to keep silent all day. Remember to have a look at this if you haven't already, see what you can do to help :)

Sponsored Silence!
Hello everyone :) I am hoping to do a sponsored silence in the next couple of weeks to raise money for Myeloma UK. This will be a massive challenge for me as I love talking so much! I will have a sponsor sheet on me most of the time, i would be grateful for any donations :) remember, if you would like to do any fundraising then please look at the Myeloma UK website for more information :) Thank you! http://www.myeloma.org.uk/get-involved/

Just another quick post for this evening, I had a lovely email from Fiona MacLellan from the Myeloma Team and she has come up with some fantastic ideas for fundraising and awareness, so please have a look at the Myeloma UK website by following these links for ideas:
http://www.myeloma.org.uk/get-involved/
Fun runs, Walks, sporting activities or even abseiling to those of you who are adventurous, all can help to raise money and awareness of Myeloma :)

I think this is a fantastic idea! You can shop as you would normally completely free of charge, but 2.5% of each purchase will be donated to Myeloma UK by the avergae retailer. See the links for details...
Please tell everyone you know about the blog, it would be lovely to have more of you to chat too!
Thanks everyone, I'll be posting soon :)

Happy New Year!
Hello everyone, Happy New Year! i hope you've all had a lovely Christmas :) so, it's the start of the new year and hopefully the start of lots more fundraising! So, there is many different things everyone can do to raise awareness of Myeloma and hopefully raise some money too. Coffee Mornings so far have been a brilliant success at Myeloma UK, raising over £20,000 which is fantastic! The target is £50,000 so we all need to have more coffee mornings! why not get together with a group of friends and organise a coffee morning? Maybe someone you know has Myeloma, and it would be a great way to raise awareness. If it sounds like a good idea to you then http://www.myeloma.org.uk/get-involved/fundraising/events/coffee-morning-month/get-organised/ this page shows you exactly how to get involved :) My neighbour has had one recently, and everyone really enjoyed it. Hope this has given everyone some food (or coffee!) for thought :)

Hello everyone, hope you are all looking forward to Christmas! I am thinking of doing a fund-raising event in the new year, and would love to know if you have any money-making ideas! I could do a sponsored silence, cake sale... but I was also thinking maybe a club night? Please comment if anyone has any suggestions :)

Myeloma UK
Okay, last post of the day. This blog is already addictive! This is just a snippet of what everyone can do to try and raise awareness of Myeloma as, like the website says, it can be pretty hard to spot! Dad was diagnosed last February after back pain for a sustained period of time, generally feeling under the weather and also if he cut himself it took a long time to heal. Of course, these symptoms could easily be mistaken for flu, or a simple paper cut! However, Dad happened to have a broken back due to the myeloma weakening his bones. So obviously the earlier that symptoms can be linked to Myeloma, the better! It's unfortunate that a lot of people simply wouldn't know the symptoms or connect it to this particular disease.Myeloma UK are trying to raise awareness of the 'Take 2 campaign' highlighting the importance of early diagnosis. Here's the link: http://www.myeloma.org.uk/get-involved/awareness-and-campaigns/the-take-2-campaign/
If you get a chance to have a look, that would be fantastic. Bye for now! :)
